During well test operations the steam heat exchanger increases the temperature of the well effluent to prevent hydrate formation, reduces fluid viscosity, breakdowns emulsions, and assists the separation of fluids in the separator. A steam generator feeds hot steam into the shell side of the heat exchanger. Well effluents flow into the process coils and interchange heat with the steam.
The unit uses steam to heat the well effluent.
